'Felt Like A Heart Attack!' Micah Parsons Reveals Cowboys Playoff Loss Feeling

Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons reflects on the team's upsetting loss to the shorthanded San Francisco 49ers in last year's playoffs.

The Dallas Cowboys 2022 NFL season came to a close in the divisional round of the playoffs in a 19-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, who were being led by Brock Purdy at the time. And the defeat is so painful to Micah Parsons that the Dallas star is comparing it to "a heart attack.''

The loss wasn't easy for the Cowboys. They were taking on the opposing team's third-string quarterback and were coming another solid regular season. Mike McCarthy had the team looking the best it had in his three seasons as head coach. Yet, the team still fell short in a game that they easily could have won.

Parsons joined The Pivot, where he was able to talk about the loss and his regrets in the game.

"It ain't really even hit me until we hit the locker room," Parsons said of the loss. "The thing that people don't realize is that team will never be the same again. Those same guys, same coaches, it'll never be the same again."

This marked the end of the season for the two-year pro. He had an incredible year that resulted in his second Pro Bowl selection and first-team All-Pro honors.

"I think about all the plays I missed ... You live with that for so long if you're a true competitor," Parsons said. "It felt like a little heart attack."

The Cowboys defense did a great job in not allowing the 49ers weapons a big game. As a team, they had a single touchdown, scored by Christian McCaffrey. He only had 35 rushing yards, though.

The 49ers, however, cashed in on four field goals, which was enough on top of the touchdown to inevitably take the game from Dallas.

Dak Prescott finished the game with two interceptions, and the offense wasn't able to produce enough to help out the defense.

Now, the Cowboys have had time to reflect on that game and the season as a whole, and they're beginning a run to hopefully overshadow the upsetting loss. ... and to ease the "heart-attack'' pain.
