Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott 'Embarrassed' by Robert Saleh's New York Jets? A Bold, False Claim

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott 'Embarrassed' by Robert Saleh's New York Jets? A Bold, False Claim

Robert Saleh has every reason to feel salty and giddy about his New York Jets’ defense and its leadership in their stunning 20-14 upset over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. But "salty and giddy'' got in the way of facts when he comes to the Dallas Cowboys and QB Dak Prescott.

“Per usual, outstanding,” the Jets head coach said after the upset of the previously unbeaten Eagles. “You know, through these first six weeks, we’ve played a gauntlet of quarterbacks. ... And we’ve embarrassed all of ‘em.”

The Jets are now 3-3 despite the Week 1 injury to QB Aaron Rodgers, and that is an accomplishment that Salah ought to be proud of. But Cowboys fans would surely like him to also get his facts straight about what his Jets have done abainst "the gauntlet.''

Dak vs. the Jets

Dak vs. the Jets

The list of quarterbacks who the Jets have faced: Buffalo's Josh Allen, New England's Mac Jones, Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes, Denver's Russell Wilson, now Philly's Jalen Hurts (who threw three interceptions) ... and Dak Prescott.

We can nitpick through that list. Mahomes is as good as it gets. Allen has great credentials. Hurts was a 2022 MVP candidate. Jones? The Patriots keep pulling him to the bench. Wilson? He's the name guy on arguably the NFL's worst team.

And Dak? Whatever the Jets and the NFL audience thinks of him - and the NFL audience will get another look on "Monday Night Football'' when the sometimes beleaguered QB leads 3-2 Dallas against the Los Angeles Chargers - the Jets certainly did not "embarrass'' him.

In that game at AT&T Stadium in Week 2, the Cowboys won 30-10. Prescott was 31 of 38 for 255 yards, with two TDs, no interceptions and one sack, with a QB Rating of 112.2.

"Embarrassed''? Whoever came away from that game "embarrassed,'' it wasn't anybody in silver and blue.

We don't mean to take anything away from Saleh’s team, which also just earned the Jets' first-ever win over Philadelphia in franchise history after 12 tries. Indeed, Cowboys Nation surely enjoyed watching Saleh strut away from the podium after completing his postgame news conference by saying, “They ain't 12-0 no more!''

That's a fact. And it's a helpful one for the Cowboys. But the Jets "embarrassing'' the Cowboys in any way? That is not a fact.
