Dak Prescott ‘Hoping for 100 More!’ Dallas Cowboys QB Reacts to Milestone

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has hit yet anotehr significant career achievement in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys took a chance on a kid out of Mississippi State in the 2016 NFL Draft with the hopes he could emerge as a serviceable backup for former quarterback Tony Romo.

Little did they realize that after Romo went down that same year, Prescott would go on to take over and become a franchise quarterback. The two-time Pro Bowler and 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year has fared quite well in his time as the leading man for "America's Team.'' And on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals will reach a milestone.

Prescott is set to make career start No. 100 for the Cowboys.

"It's a blessing, it really is," said Prescott. "I grew up wanting to play this game, wanting to play this game at its highest level — that's simply what this league is — to think back and see that I've had 99 at-bats and this would be the 100th, it's pretty cool. Being the physical game it is, knowing how hard it is to play and stay in this league, yeah, it's something special."

Prescott also hopped in the time machine and looked back at his first start in 2016 against the New York Giants that ended in a loss.

"My first start? It was a loss, unfortunately," he recalled. "But I think I started out pretty fast out of the gate — being able to get the ball out to some guys — I remember [Cole Beasley] having a day. It was fun at AT&T Stadium, but to be on 100 and to be on the road, hopefully 100 more to go."

Similar to Romo in a sense, Prescott has been tested a handful of times with injuries and even though he is just 30 years old he explained that his body certainly has felt the toll of 100 starts in the NFL.

"Certain days, hell yeah," he said with a smile. "Certain days it feels like a lot more than 100, but mentally and some days, physically, not at all. I do feel young. As I've knocked on wood and said I'm feeling healthy and being healthy, and I'm thankful for that.''

He did however explain that while starting 100 games in the league that many say stands for "Not For Long," he still has his eyes on one goal - which is winning a Super Bowl.

Luckily for him in his "old age," his offense is complemented by arguably the best defense in the NFL, and Dallas is viewed as one of the top teams in the league. So as Dak joked, maybe it won't take another 100 starts before he gets to the Super Bowl.
