Cowboys Rival Packers 'Disgusted' by Aaron Rodgers, Will Trade to 'Move On'
FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys fans have long been "disgusted'' by Aaron Rodgers because he's been virtually unbeatable when "America's Team'' faces the Green Bay Packers.
"Disgusted''? Turns out, the Packers themselves know the feeling.
“They are done with Rodgers,” long-time Packers beat writer Bob McGinn said, via ProFootballTalk. “He’s not coming back. I mean, they’re disgusted with him, and they’re done with him.
"And they’re moving on.”
That of course means an attempt by the Packers to rid themselves of Rodgers via trade, though between his prickly nature and his soap-operatic ways, he could certainly threaten retirement if he doesn't get his way.
Appearing on the Go Long Pod podcast, McGinn asserted that while the team is "disgusted" with the future Hall of Fame QB, the Packers also have faith in young vet and first-round pick Jordan Love and his ability to take over.
Rodgers, 39, has been the Packers' starter since 2008 and as a four-time NFL MVP, he is an institution. But for the last several years, his behavior - bouncing somewhere between "eccentric'' and "selfish'' - has left the franchise (and the locker room, and the fan base) constantly having to wonder what odd demand or goofy position will come up next.
But now, finally, maybe we know what's coming: Aaron Rodgers will be free to "disgust'' somebody else ... while also maybe winning some football games.
