Cowboys Rival 'Miserable' As Eagles 'Backstab' Jalen Hurts?
Together, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to the NFL playoffs. Whether they like each other or not.
And given that "team leaders'' are leaking that they have "internal concerns'' about quarterback Jalen Hurts? And given that one such "leader'' has allowed himself to serve as a source in revealing that the Eagles might be "the most miserable team'' in the NFL?
It doesn't seem as if they're going to like it.
The Dallas Cowboys are 10-4 and at the Miami Dolphins today, continuing to try to joust their way to the top of the NFC East, meaning outdoing the 10-4 Eagles, who play the New York Giants today.
In Dallas, locker room leader Dak Prescott is talking about "brotherhood'' and "bonding,'' and Cowboys fans hope that stuff serves as a foundation for a Super Bowl push.
In Philly? What we've always thought was an Eagles strength - Hurts' classy stoicism and cool demeanor - is now being questioned by his own teammates, who are frankly exposing their own personality weaknesses by letting this ooze into the news.
Why do we think Hurts, 25, need not change? Led by overly emotional coach Nick Sirianni, that bunch needs balance. Hurts gives that to them ... and now they don't seem to want it.
“The Eagles,'' the Philadelphia Inquirer writes, "want their franchise quarterback to be authentic, but some team leaders also want him to open himself up a little more in the locker room and have a more outward leadership style when it’s needed during difficult stretches, several team sources close to the situation said.”
"Team leaders''? Taking a collective poke at their MVP quarterback is "leadership''?
The Eagles feature silly sideline shenanigans starring everybody from "Big Dom'' to A.J. Brown to the ringmaster of it all, Sirianni ... who just demoted his defensive coordinator, surely adding all around him being tied up in knots.
