Cowboys 'Rookie Hazing'? CeeDee Lamb Pokes at Deuce Vaughn Habit: LOOK

“Pass the message,'' writes Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb on his IG. "Deuce Vaughn, stop leaving your cleats and gloves in the locker room, this is not your home!”

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys got rid of "rookie hazing'' some time ago, with Dez Bryant leading the charge to make sure the treatment wasn't truly physical or financial punishment.

So now, here inside The Star, it's mostly about the tame poking of fun at the kids. And rookie running back Deuce Vaughn just got poked.

“Everybody do me a favor, and pass the message,'' writes young vet CeeDee Lamb on his IG. "Deuce, stop leaving your cleats and gloves in the locker room, this is not your home!”

Deuce has been clean and sharp in his on-field work as he makes his bid to not only get a spot on the 53-man roster but also maybe to be a prime backup to starting running back Tony Pollard.

But is it possible that Deuce is a bit sloppy when it comes to his housecleaning?

The 5-5, 175-pound Vaughn has captured the imagination of Cowboys fans with his success and with his stature. ... and his impressive preseason has fortified his spot as a fan favorite. In preseason Week 1 at home against Jacksonville, he heard "Deuce'' chants from the AT&T Stadium crowd. It happened again in Week 2 at Seattle, and it happened again here inside The Star during the Tuesday night practice in front of fans.

"It’s been really cool to have the type of feedback from the fans and have all this love, but I also understand that this is just the preseason. This upcoming game is the next biggest one. That’s the one on my schedule that’s circled.''

That take on the fans? It's lovely. But Lamb also wants to make sure to that Vaughn remains a locker room favorite as well ... and so we bet that from now on there will be no leaving his cleats and gloves laying around the generally pristine HQ of the Dallas Cowboys.
