'Fraud Fan' Skip Bayless' Worthless Prediction for Cowboys vs. Jets' Aaron Rodgers
FRISCO - Leave it to the charlatan conman Skip Bayless to light a fuse in honor of Independence Day ... all in yet another bogus attempt to attach himself to "his'' Dallas Cowboys.
The Fox Sports commentator, who lacks the Cowboys knowledge to be characterized as either a "fan'' or an "analyst,'' is commemorated a different kind of holiday on social media: the arrival of Aaron Rodgers to AT&T Stadium. Rodgers, donning a new shade of green as the New York Jets quarterback after 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, will serve as the headliner of the Cowboys' home opener on Sept. 17.
"I'm already on record." Bayless declared. "We will finally beat Aaron bleeping Rodgers in Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 4:25 Eastern Time."
There is a "tell'' here that reveals how truly frail Bayless' connection with Dallas is. He worked here 30 years ago and also worked, for profit, to destroy the reputations of everyone from Tom Landry to Troy Aikman to Dak Prescott. (We still cannot fathom how FS1 and its advertisers stood by the cruel Bayless after he made fun of Prescott for being "mentally weak'' following Dak's brother's suicide.) But why would a "Cowboys SuperFan'' with ties and roots to DFW refer to a slated kickoff by identifying it as "4:25 Eastern Time''?
What Dallas-rooted "Cowboys SuperFan'' thinks in terms of what time it is in New York?
Some of Rodgers' finest and most memorable gridiron victories have come against the Cowboys, including a comeback from 14 points down last November in Green Bay in a performance that Bayless recapped, referring to Rodgers as "Count Dracula." (As is usually the case, Bayless' attempts at wordplay fall short and sound juvenile.)
What we've known and have chronicled here at CowboysSI.com: Rodgers owns an 8-2 record in 10 starts against the Cowboys, including two playoff victories. And something else - and we don't mention this for the purpose of bragging, but rather, to separate ourselves from the fraudulent fan: We've been in the press box for all 10 of those games, and will be covering this year's meeting at AT&T Stadium as well.
We don't recall Bayless being in attendance in any capacity at any of those 10 games. Nor are we aware that this "fan'' has ever purchased a ticket to a Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium.
But otherwise, he will "see you there'' in pseudo-spirit, Dallas fans ... unless he screws up the actual time "his Cowboys'' home games begin.
