Cowboys Vs. Kaepernick? Aaron Rodgers OUT, Jets Urged to Sign
FRISCO - The New York Jets might be on the lookout for a new quarterback to add to the roster this week as, in the wake of the Monday night injury to Aaron Rodgers, they ready to take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 while down a man.
And the man one observer thinks the Jets should sign is … Colin Kaepernick?!
"There’s a QB right there in New Jersey who took a team to a Super Bowl and a NFC championship game. Rhymes with Happernick," Jemele Hill writes on social media.
There are an assortment of ideas being tossed around by media and fans regarding Jets ideas. Some of them ignore the fact that Zach Wilson is going to be the starter. Other ideas (Tom Brady) seem to be all about shock value. Some seem agenda-driven …
And given the fact that Kaepernick hasn't played since the 2016 season, a push for him here - whether one supports his sociopolitical views or not - seems to fall in that latter category.
How about Carson Wentz? Nick Foles? Matt Ryan? Anybody else?
For his part, Kaepernick does want back in to the NFL.
“I’m going to keep pushing,” Kaepernick said to SI this spring. “I’m going to keep fighting for it because I know I can step on the field and play. Every workout, every opportunity I’ve had to show that, the feedback has always been positive. … ‘He’s still an elite player.”
