Metcalf and the 6-5 Seahawks are this week hoping to end their two-game losing streak with a "Thursday Night Football'' showdown here in DFW against the 8-3 Dallas Cowboys. And he cannot help but notice that breakout star cornerback DaRon Bland - who figures to in part get the assignment of covering Metcalf - on Thanksgiving set an NFL record with his fifth pick-6 of the season.
What were you thinking, D.K., when you watched Bland accomplish that feat?
"I was thinking, 'He's got more touchdowns than me!"
Metcalf (who has 43 catches and three TDs) also played a Thanksgiving game, against Seattle's NFC West rivals the San Francisco 49ers, and they were blown out, with Metcalf managing just three receptions for 32 yards in a blowout loss. Bland, Metcalf said, "does what the receivers should do and that’s shave angles and meet the ball. He does an exceptional job at that. It’s rare that you see a cornerback be able to track the ball and catch the ball like he does, he does it effortlessly.''

Metcalf also cited Dallas' other cornerback, Stephon Gilmore, as a challenge, while acknowledging the Cowboys' season-ending injury loss of Trevon Diggs.
"My prayers go out to him on his road to recovery. But it seems like the next one up (Bland) is a duplicate of him!''
