'Dangerous!' Cowboys Micah Parsons Scouting Report from QB Jared Goff
FRISCO - The Detroit Lions have spent the 2023 season solving problems presented to them by NFL defenses on the way to a 11-4 record and an NFC North title.
That has been especially true in recent weeks, as in back-to-back wins in the last two weeks, quarterback Jared Goff has thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions.
And now along comes a Saturday night showdown against the 10-5 Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, a building in which Dallas seems almost infallible ... featuring a defense that Goff uses words like "dangerous'' and "incredible'' to describe.
Edge rusher Micah Parsons and his 13 sacks?
"He's a dangerous player,'' Goff said. "Their advantage with him is that they can move him around ... They do a bunch of stuff with him. ... He can do a hell of a lot and we’ve got to be aware of where he’s at.”
The Lions remember Week 7 of last year, when Parsons recorded six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in the Cowboys' 24-6 win over Detroit.

Cornerback DaRon Bland and his eight interceptions this season, an NFL-record five of which have been returned for touchdowns?
“It’s incredible,'' Goff said. "He’s very opportunistic. ... It’s a good testament to the type of player he is, and yeah, he’s got great ball skills.”

At the same time, the Detroit offense is loaded with talent ... and maybe with answers for the Cowboys being "dangerous'' and "incredible.''
As a result, the offense is brimming with confidence ahead of the Week 17 tilt.
"We've had two games in a row now with taking care of the ball pretty well,'' Goff said. "So yeah, it'll carry into this one, certainly. But it's something we're always conscious of, is taking care of the ball and giving our team the best chance to win. But this defense is good and we've got our work cut out."
