Into The Ring? Dez Bryant Extends Boxing Match Challenge to Stephen A. Smith
Ex-Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant has made his dislike of ESPN's coverage in general publicly known. ... with a specific call-out to the face of the network, Stephen A. Smith.
In fact, Dez is mentioning that he would like to enter a boxing ring with both Smith and Barstool founder Dave Portnoy to release some steam. Bryant is irritated and frustrated with their commentary on him and his career.
"Funny thing is,'' Bryant wrote on Twitter, "they know which current and ex-athletes to target to build their (bleep) companies. ... 'Culture vultures.'' ...
"I’m on a mission to change all that (bleep) and they know it bunch of (bleep).”
Smith eventually responded to Bryant's boxing request, reassuring that he never had any issues with Bryant as a person and stated that he was "sad" after viewing his tweet.
"Dez, I'm sad that you sent that tweet my brother," Smith said. "For the record, to the audience out there, I've never had a problem with Dez Bryant, not one time. I love the X. I used to troll them when they were Cowboy fans but I never had an issue with Dez."
However, Bryant's main concern is telling his side of the story, and plans to do so. As he backed off the boxing idea - we don't need any well-conditioned pro athlete doing real damage to out-of-shape sportswriters - Dez confirmed that his frustration is not completely geared toward Smith, rather, how he is painted on social media.

"You're right @stephenasmith, my problem is not with you but I do plan on speaking my story on how I feel about a lot of things," Bryant said on X (formerly known as Twitter).
We'll have to wait and see when, if ever, Bryant gets to present his viewpoint on the situation. ... most likely well outside the ring.
