'Do You Believe?' Deion Gets Cowboys Boost from Aikman, Emmitt & Irvin

“Do you believe?” Deion Sanders chided media members after Colorado upset TCU. "Do you believe?'' But there are some believers - including Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin.

In a scenario not uncommon to him, Deion Sanders drew the eyes of the football world on Saturday afternoon as Colorado upset TCU, "Coach Prime'' recording a massive upset victory in his first game leading the Buffaloes program.

“Do you believe?” Sanders chided media members after the game. "Do you believe? Next question!''

Of course, "belief'' in the immediate or eventual success of a first-year coach taking over a CU team that last year won just one game is not the job of the media. "Belief,'' though, is easy to come by for Sanders when it comes to former Dallas Cowboys teammates. And the Hall of Famer had all of that going for him.

His Super Bowl quarterback Troy Aikman was in Fort Worth to hang out with him on Friday. His running back teammate Emmitt Smith declared, "What a game! Congrats!'' after the 45-42 win at TCU, which is coming off of a trip to the national championship game.

And one of his dearest friends, Michael Irvin - who like Sanders and Emmitt and Aikman is also a Hall of Famer - could barely contain himself.

"Didn’t I tell y’all God and ⁦Deion is about to deliver their greatest MASTERPIECE!!! mama there goes that MAN, he did it AGAIN!!!!!!! So PROUD of my great friend!''

It really was a masterpiece in terms of what Sanders, his staff and his players have engineered in a so-far turnaround in Boulder ... with Deion's us-against-the-word approach surely serving as some of the fuel.

“We told we’re coming,” Sanders said. “You thought we was joking, but guess what? We keep receipts.”
