'F*** It! I'm Switching!' Cowboys Micah Parsons Jokes About Huge New QB Contracts

Do-it-all Cowboys defender Micah Parsons is now playfully expressing a new positional wish."F*** it,'' he jokes. "I'm switching to QB!''

FRISCO - Micah Parsons has demonstrated that he's capable of playing multiple positions. The Dallas Cowboys "Lion-backer'' plays end, inside linebacker, outside linebacker, sometimes cornerback ... He half-jokes about wishing the Cowboys would let him play running back and at practice here inside The Star, he will occasionally fiddle with punt returns.

But Micah is now playfully expressing a new positional wish.

"F*** it,'' Parsons joked on Twitter. "I'm switching to QB!''

Micah's reaction is of course coming in the wake of the NFL's skyrocketing contracts for QBs. Just this week, Derek Carr, Geno Smith and Daniel Jones have signed monster deals, and there are more to come - including Micah's teammate in Dallas, who is working with the club toward an extension.

Using numbers provided by agents (meaning they are a bit inflated): Carr signed a four-year, $150 million deal to move to the Saints, including a guaranteed $100 million. Smith got a three-year, $105 million deal to remain with the Seahawks Jones and the Giants agreed to a four-year, $160 million deal to keep him in New York.

And Dak's "exciting'' new deal figures to be in excess of his present $40 million APY.

When is Parsons' real payday?

The 23-year-old former first-round pick - arguably the NFL's best defensive player - is still playing under the terms of his rookie deal, which runs through the 2024 season. He’s set to earn a base salary of $2.12 million in 2023 and $2.99 million in 2024, with the Cowboys able to exercise a fifth-year option in his deal for 2025.

Parsons would surely like to preempt that by getting an extension when he is eligible next spring.

But for now, Parsons is eyeing "the bag'' that can be had elsewhere. And having said that?

"Man, if y’all think I say some wild s*** on here,'' he wrote, "I’m glad y’all don’t see the s***I really want to post lol.''
