'I Went Absent!' CeeDee Lamb Reacts to 'Weird' Dallas Cowboys Disappearance In Christmas Eve Loss at Miami Dolphins

FRISCO - Earlier this season, when the Dallas Cowboys couldn't find a way to get CeeDee Lamb involved in what turned out to be a loss at San Francisco, the standout receiver made the mistake of being too demonstrative in his show of frustration.

On Christmas Eve in Miami, Lamb put on display an advance in his maturity, as he disappeared during the second and third quarters of a 22-20 loss to the Dolphins ... but relatively kept his cool when discussing the issue in the postgame locker room.

"Started off the game hot," said Lamb, who on the first two drives accounted for over 100 yards, including a 49-yard catch-and-run TD. "I went absent. That's why it was weird."

"I went absent''? How? Why?

"They weren't doing anything," Lamb said when asked if the fact that he wasn't productive at all in quarters two and three was the result of a shift in the Dolphins defense. "It was weird, that second and third quarter. Very weird."

In the end, Lamb was targeted 10 times finished with six receptions for 118 yards and the one touchdown. But that middle stretch of the game saw him go four Dallas possessions without being targeted.

And it was with no anger or bitterness that Lamb summed up his view on that.

"I feel like if I'm gonna be involved,'' he said, "keep me involved.''

Lamb did not shy away from acknowledging the 10-5 playoff-bound Cowboys' road woes; Dallas is 3-5 away from home, and CeeDee called that "strange but true.''

"For us to be the team we want to be, we have to continue to be confident in who we are, stick to the script and be explosive,'' Lamb added ... and maybe "sticking to the script,'' to him, means don't go four straight possessions without throwing to him.
