'If You're Smart!' Cowboys' Michael Irvin Touts Best Signing: Kirk Cousins to Falcons
FRISCO - Michael Irvin has his favorite team. That would be the Hall of Famer's beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Michael Irvin also has his favorite move as NFL free agency is opening. And he's probably like to tout a major Dallas transaction, except ... you know ... there hasn't really been one.
So instead, he is all over the Atlanta Falcons' blockbuster deal to bring Kirk Cousins to the NFC South.
"Watch this now. Watch this season. Right now, I'm going to give you the early statement. The NFC South winner will be the Falcons," Irvin said.
Irvin is confident that Cousins - who just signed a $180 million deal to jump from Minnesota to Atlanta - will transform the Falcons into a division winner in ways young predecessor Desmond Ridder could not.
Atlanta could be a legitimate threat because of its offensive weaponry. The roster currently features Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts and Drake London ... plus a new signee in Darnell Mooney.

Prior to suffering a season-ending Achilles injury last October, Cousins, 35, was playing at a high level. In eight starts, he completed 69.5 percent of his passes for 2,331 yards with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Predicted the always passionate Irvin: "They're taking over Tampa Bay, even though Tampa did sign back Baker Mayfield. They split last year with Tampa. They'll beat Tampa this year. I'm taking the Falcons to win the South. Take it right now if you're smart."
