'I'm Impactful!' Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb Overcomes Frustration, Delivers On 'MNF'

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb had been the subject of harsh criticism all week, but silenced his doubters with a great showing against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb was noticeably unhappy after his team got run out of the building by the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 8, more so than other players.

After the game, Lamb was very vocal about his frustration with not getting the ball enough, as he only had five targets against the 49ers. This not only led to coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott meeting with Lamb to work through these frustrations, but also to former players and talking heads calling him out.

After this saga, the pressure was on Lamb to perform on Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers, and so he did. With seven catches for 117 yards, Lamb was the best receiver on the field in the Cowboys' thrilling 20-17 win.

"Coming out here and being able to provide for my team and contribute to the win is probably the best thing for me," Lamb said. "I feel like I'm definitely an impactful player, so for us to get this going early and to get me the ball early, it was very important."

It's safe to say that last week's embarrassment served as motivation for Lamb, and the Cowboys as a whole, on Monday. No team ever wants to lose, but to lose in the fashion that Dallas did against San Francisco hurts that much more. With their performance against the Chargers, the Cowboys made sure to not let one bad loss snowball into more.

"Looking at this game, it was the next opportunity," Lamb said. "Not necessarily looking at it to carry over, but to use it as motivation going into the game."

Lamb didn't just bounce back himself, but also helped his quarterback Dak Prescott do the same. Prescott had a miserable game against the 49ers with three interceptions, leading to even more criticism than usual, but bounced back to post over 300 total yards and two touchdowns against the Chargers.

"I'm very impressed, of course," Lamb said of Prescott. "We were much more focused. As a team, we do our part to make him look as good as he should be.

"People are going to be critical of him regardless. That's just the star he is."

Lamb had a career year in 2022, but this season has been a bit more up-and-down. He has two 100-yard performances in six games, but his other four games have been relatively pedestrian and he has just one touchdown. However, heading into the Week 7 bye on a high note should help him the rest of the way.
