Jerry Jones, Micah Parsons Rip 'Comical & Unbelievable' Referees - Even in Dallas Cowboys Win!

ARLINGTON - How poor, in the eyes of the Dallas Cowboys, is the state of NFL officiating as it regards Micah Parsons and beyond?

Even in the wake of a resounding 33-13 "Sunday Night Football'' victory over the hated Philadelphia Eagles, two of the highest-profile members of "America's Team'' are finding reasons to gripe about the refs.

"Comical!'' Parsons said of the officials' unwillingness, in his view, to call holding penalties on the offensive linemen trying to slow him.

"Unbelievable!'' exclaimed owner Jerry Jones in support of his star, who is currently the favorite to win NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Given that latter fact - and given that Dallas is 10-3 - it cannot be argued that the referees are "against the Cowboys.'' In fact, in as much as the Eagles had been a ridiculous 7-0 when head ref John Hussey and his crew worked their games (before Sunday night's result, that is), maybe awful work eventually evens out.

But that doesn't make it any less frustrating for Parsons, who played with the flu and still recorded a sack of Jalen Hurts against the usually impenetrable Lane Johnson, giving him 12.5 for the year and putting him in a most unusual class ...

Only two players have ever recorded 12 sacks per year in each of their first three NFL seasons: Reggie White ... and now Micah Parsons.

In fairness in any argument about Parsons being singled-out here, we’d really need to study the entire NFL. Do Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa abd TJ Watt believe they are held and grabbed and clung to? (We bet the answer is yes.)

But yeah, Micah again got held and grabbed and clung to …. And Jerry knows it.

“I saw it,” Jones said after the win in a visit with inquiring reporters. “It’s unbelievable they can call all those penalties and not call those holding calls. I agree with you."
