‘Let’s Make It 3!’ Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys Win, Turn to ‘The Bear' Philadelphia Eagles
How did the Dallas Cowboys look after a bye week? Sunday was an "A-plus" in that department.
The Cowboys dominated the visiting Los Angeles Rams from start-to-finish in the NFL's early slate this week, winning to the tune of a 43-20 final score and seeing quarterback Dak Prescott throw for over 300 yards and four scores.
Seems like the dormant Texas Coast Offense” woke up, no?
That's all well and good, but the page has to turn quickly at The Star. Dallas is set to ride to Philadelphia next week to face the division foe in the Eagles who managed to survive a scare from the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Sure, Dallas has other division rivals, but right now, the Eagles are the division rival. This title race in the NFC East will come down to these two teams.
Owner Jerry Jones took a "high road" approach to next week's matchup following the dominating win over the Rams. He doesn't want to "poke the bear," he said. Simply enjoy this win, use it as motivation and go do it again next week.
Dak Prescott, on the other hand, didn't just want to poke the bear...he wanted to attack it.
“Pour honey on me!'' Prescott said following the win. "I always say that. If you see me and a bear in a fight, pour honey on me."
That's some solid confidence from one of the most headline-grabbing quarterbacks in the National Football League. The Eagles have looked vulnerable at times this season, yes. But it's also important to note that they, not the Cowboys, hold the current division lead with a 7-1 record.
Dak: 'Pour Honey on Me!' as Cowboys to 'Poke the Bear' at Eagles
Prescott also addressed him playing well in two straight games.
“Let’s make it three next week,” he said. “I’m in a rhythm.”
Every goal the Cowboys had entering this season is still more than on the table, especially if the offense and defense look as good in the weeks ahead as they did today. But don't let this win mask what's coming. Dallas has dismantled teams before, and it has turned around and suffered losses to the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers immediately after.
If Dallas wants to feel good about its chances to win this division, it needs to win next week and not let history repeat itself...whether the proverbial bear is poked or not.
