Micah Parsons Reacts to 'Terrible' NFL Referees: 'More Eyes!' Insists Dallas Cowboys Star

ARLINGTON - Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is in the process of learning something the "old-head'' watchers of the NFL have long-known: The referees are not perfect, and maybe not good enough to keep up with the level of play and all else that goes on over the course of a game.

But Micah has a "new'' solution to a problem that has come to him as the result of being unhappy about the officiating in his team’s recent 28-23 loss at the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I think at this point, we need to have more refs,” said Parsons in a recent episode of his “The Edge“ podcast. "There needs to be eyes everywhere. Because obviously, these calls are being missed in the game. I don’t know if the refs’ eyes are somewhere else. It’s too much going on. … These calls are crucial in games that just can’t be missed.”

The All-Pro Parsons demonstrated his frustration at times during that key game, and so did Cowboys Nation, especially after a play during which he was grabbed by Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson.

The NFL has toyed with different ideas, including its now-infamous (to us) use of TV producers to help make decisions on some important calls. ... but maddeningly, not on other important calls.

Parsons noted that it seems the officials "pick and choose'' when they want to throw their flags. ... a subtle but damning accusation.

The "TV cameras as refs'' doesn't really work. The NFL obviously doesn't think making the refs full-time league employees will help, either. And it could be argued that if the refs are "terrible,'' as Micah said, adding more of them to work a game will just mean adding more "terrible refs.''

So, there is the proposing of an alternative solution that would in theory simplify things and would in theory reduce what Parsons calls the "blatantly'' poor calls.

"Or,'' Micah said, "just let us play.''
