Training camp for all 32 NFL teams is about working their way toward success in the regular season. But football being football, training camp can also be about all 32 teams holding their collective breath when it comes to injury.

The last thing the Dallas Cowboys need is for Dak Prescott to do down, which it why all of Oxnard could hear the groans coming from fans present at Tuesday's workout when Micah Parsons - again - zipped his way into the offensive backfield.

On this particular play, Parsons was rushing the passer during an 11-on-11 drill and - as we've now suggested a few times, is doing it so consistently and so disruptively that he's "ruining practice'' for the offense - he got to Dak ... and then seemingly attempted to pull up in an effort to avoid a full collision with the quarterback.

In doing so, though, Parsons ultimately ended up making contact with Prescott down here the QB's knees - and the anticipation of something bad resulting was for the moment palpable. Indeed, when you watch and listen to the video, you can hear the crowd at training camp being taken aback by their worst fears.

Thankfully, Prescott avoided an injury and otherwise had a good day at camp, including during his work in 2-point conversion "go-for-it'' snaps, during which the offense went 5-for-5.

And in the end, the only thing the Dallas defense did to Prescott was garner attention from Cowboys Nation and beyond when buddy Trevon Diggs continued the Dak-Diggs tradition of trash-talking by telling the QB to "shut your bleep-bleep up!''

Said coach Mike McCarthy: “This is a perfect illustration of why we’re not practicing against other teams. I think the offense and defense, we will challenge each other at a very high level.''

You can say that again ... though Micah Parsons seems to be tossing aside the offense's efforts to "challenge'' him.
