Michael Irvin Harassment Lawsuit: NFL Decision on Cowboys Job?

The case is moving forward. But there is no indication that the NFL - represented in this case by Michael Irvin's employment with the NFL Network - is prepared to also move forward regarding the Cowboys great's sexual harassment case.

FRISCO - The courts in Arizona are moving forward on the case involving Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin and the alleged incident that took place at a Marriott hotel in Arizona at the start of Super Bowl Week in February.

But there is no indication that the NFL - represented in this case by Irvin's employment with the NFL Network - is prepared to also move forward.

Irvin has not been on TV (on NFL Network or ESPN) since early February as a result of the NFL Network having suspended the Hall of Famer after a female staff member at the Marriott accused him of sexually harassing her. Oddly, the charge of "sexual harassment'' has experienced some "shrinkage,'' as the latest claim essentially boils down to her claim that Irvin made sexually offense remarks while they visited for a few moments - on camera via hotel security video - in front of other hotel staffers and customers.

As subpoenas have been sent out and responses gathered, Irvin's position is unchanged. As he recently said: "I know I didn't do anything wrong ... It's just sickening."

Irvin's legal team, meanwhile, said in court filings that the woman "made this false report with actual malice and knowledge as to the falsity of her statements." And Irvin's team is forcefully asserting that his accusers are doing all of this with "an evil mind.''

Is the NFL Network moved by any of this? It seems not, as Front Office Sports is reporting that Irvin's status at NFL Network remains unchanged. ... meaning, it can be argued, that the Cowboys legend is being judged as "guilty until proven innocent.''
