Odell Beckham Jr. Names His New Price to Sign NFL Contract

OBJ has denied that his magic number was ever $20 million per season, as had been widely reported. But the former Cowboys target does seemingly have a new goal.

FRISCO - Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham has put a new and allegedly lower price tag on himself.

He is seeking $15 million per season in a new contract, which is down from his previous asking price, league sources told Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer.

What was that previous ask?

OBJ has denied that it was ever $20 million per season, as had been widely reported - while also seemingly being bothered when one team offered him $4 million APY.

The Dallas Cowboys were in hot pursuit of OBJ for months, with team owner Jerry Jones orchestrating a very public push. The Cowboys have now moved on from the OBJ chase, however, due to their trade with the Houston Texans for speedy receiver Brandin Cooks.

Beckham, who has spent more than a year rehabbing his knee, made an appearance at the NFL’s annual meetings in Phoenix (where he has a home) to meet with personnel representing various teams … maybe most prominently the Baltimore Ravens, who reportedly have made a “competitive” contract offer to the controversial star, who turns 31 in November.

OBJ has said he would like to play for a contender and find a place that could serve as “home,” meaning he’d like a long-term deal. The Bills, Giants, Jets and Chiefs are among the teams that could still be interested in the firmer Pro Bowler.
