Patrick Mahomes 'Praying' For Kansas City After Fatal Shooting At Chiefs Super Bowl Parade
FRISCO - Kansas City, on what was supposed to be a Wednesday of Super Bowl success celebration, has tragically been transformed into a time of mourning as the city - and the country - is reeling due to a shooting that took place near the day’s victory parade.
Said quarterback Patrick Mahomes via Twitter: “Praying for Kansas City.
Mahomes’ offering of his prayers to the city has naturally gone viral as all of us search for answers to the unanswerable.
The reports out of Kansas City have 10 people having been shot, with three currently in critical condition and one victim losing their life in the incident.
Two suspects are currently in custody.
The Chiefs had been celebrating their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIX. Minutes before the shooting began Mahomes - the Texas native who has become the face of the NFL - had been on stage promising that the team would complete the first-ever Super Bowl threepeat.
