'Selfish!' Is Cowboys' Michael Irvin Revealing Eagles Weakness?

Is Michael Irvin - who was certainly "animated'' in his playing days but was never "selfish'' - right about the Eagles' "selfish look''? Cowboys Nation, hoping to find a way to create some separation between these two teams, certainly hopes so.

FRISCO - The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0 and like the Dallas Cowboys, who sport the same season-starting record, they aren't doing much wrong.

But Philly wide receiver A.J. Brown is getting scolded now by Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin for one possible crack in the Eagles' armor.

“I’ve always told players don’t do that, it’s a selfish look. Especially if you’re winning," said Irvin on FS1's "Undisputed,'' referring to a frustrated Brown seemingly getting in quarterback Jalen Hurts' face during last week's game.

Brown was guilty of, at the very least, overzealous sideline activity in Thursday's 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the Eagles home opener.

Some have argued back with Irvin, insisting that there is no "beef'' between the two players. But he isn't saying there is a "beef.'' He's saying that Brown is lighting a potential fire that now requires somebody to put out.

Luckily for the Eagles, they happen to employ that sort of "somebody.''

"I think everybody wants to make plays and everybody wants to contribute," Hurts said. "I have no worry about (Brown). He's a great player, a great teammate, a great friend and we will do anything and everything to win."

There are others inside Eagles HQ, though, when talking about the Brown dustup, who are insisting on some sort of "privacy'' ... and that is an ignorant take. (Columnist John McMullen in Philly suggests here that all of this is reflective of an "uptight'' Eagles bunch.)
