Tyreek Hill vs. Cowboys: Stephon Gilmore Reveals Key to Dallas Slowing Miami Dolphins Speed

The Dallas Cowboys face a high-flying Miami Dolphins offense that has proved tough to stop this season, but Stephon Gilmore knows what might slow down Tyreek Hill and company.

The No. 1 key for the Dallas Cowboys to walk out of Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday with a win is to slow down the Miami Dolphins offense.

Currently first in the NFL for points per game (31.5) and with a host of players who wouldn't look out of place at the Olympics as members of the 100m track team, Miami has speed to burn.

With Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, and De'Von Achane capable of sprinting to the goalpost on every play, how does the Cowboys' defense, which got gashed on the ground last week in Buffalo, stop an incredibly potent offense?

Tyreek and Gilmore

“Just play with great technique, trust your teammates, and be physical,” Cowboys corner Stephon Gilmore said. “That's really what it come down to, winning the line of scrimmage and playing physical.

"I think if we take care of that, we'll take care of the game.”

The Dolphins have won four of their last five games, while the Cowboys have won five of their last six, but the loss to Buffalo was a shot to the ego. Questions have been raised about Dallas' inability to win on the road against quality opponents.

But against 10-4 Miami, who themselves have had to hear the "who have they beaten" line, despite being 10-4 and leading the AFC East, the Cowboys have a chance to put that narrative to bed.

Tyreek, Zack Martin & How Many Stars Sitting OUT?

“We know Miami got a good football team we got to go down there and play our best football," Gilmore said. "We know they're going to bring their best ball so hopefully our best ball is better than theirs.”

The Cowboys would relish a chance to bounce back against a quality team on the road, but beating such teams has proven to be a tough task. Dallas is 3-4 on the road this season.

The Cowboys can eliminate several narratives surrounding the team this season with a win in Miami, but if they succumb similarly to last week, their playoff credentials might take a hit they can't recover from. So ... they need to slow down the Dolphins - if they can.
