Where Do Dallas Cowboys Rate in Latest NFL Power Rankings?
The Dallas Cowboys have a short week of preparation leading up to Thanksgiving Day, but they are fresh off a road win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, putting away yet another subpar team in convincing fashion.
How did Dallas' win impact their standing in the newest rendition of the NFL power rankings? Sports Illustrated released its updated list on Tuesday, and the Cowboys come in at No. 6 on the list out of the league's 32 teams. You can see the full list here and find an excerpt from the piece below.
"A clinical offensive performance for the Cowboys, who, aside from facing the Cardinals, are excellent at disposing of poor competition. If Dallas is able to get ahead in a game of actual import, they are going to be difficult to contend with, especially if the rush is taken away."
"Clinical" may be putting it lightly for the now 7-3 Cowboys. Dallas was methodical in its operation on Sunday, seeing over 200 yards passing from quarterback Dak Prescott and 61 rushing yards from back Tony Pollard and a combined three scores from the duo.
Dallas is still behind the proverbial eight ball in the NFC East race, however, after the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. The Eagles come in at No. 1 in this week's power rankings, and the San Francisco 49ers, who embarrassed Dallas earlier this season, come in at No. 2.
'Onto the Next One!' Cowboys Turn Focus to Commanders on Thanksgiving
The Cowboys are likely bound for another playoff berth, but the seed may not be what they would hope if the current trajectory continues in the NFC. Regardless, Dallas has an opportunity for another division win this week when they play host to the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving.
Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on CBS.
