FRISCO - We understand the question. But why won't those interested in the always-interesting Deion Sanders listen to his answers?

CowboysSI.com was the first outlet to broach the issue with Sanders, the former NFL and Dallas Cowboys legend. He told us point-blank that he's "too old-fashioned'' to want to bother with the modern pro athlete, and that he therefore has no desire to make the jump from college coaching - he just completed his first season at the University of Colorado - to the NFL.

And since our interview? Sanders has been asked the same question about a million times.

Deion Sanders

Are we waiting for him to crack? To change his mind? To tell us, "Aw, I was just kidding?''

Most recently, it is Shannon Sharpe who is asking Sanders in a jump to the NFL, specifically as it applies to the new Los Angeles Chargers' opening.

"I don't wanna do pros,'' Sanders said on "Nightcap," Sharpe's podcast with Chad Johnson. "I would never do pro," Sanders said on "Nightcap," Sharpe's podcast with Chad Johnson.

And that was that - or should have been, until Johnson inexplicably expressed disbelief.

"I'm straight,'' Sanders said. ... meaning, "I'm fine where I am and I am telling the truth.''

In his first season at CU, Sanders turned around a bad program quickly, starting with a 3-0 record ... though the Buffs eventually settled in at 4-8.

Would Dan Quinn Leave Cowboys for Chargers?

Still come the waves of media people who either a) don't know "Coach Prime'' and have never spoken to him and nevertheless insist he's fibbing or b) who do know him and are asking him about it ...

And not listening to his answer.

Disaster In The Downpour: Cowboys Blown Out By Bills

"Colorado,'' Deion said by explanation, "provided everything I need, man. I'm having the time of my life. I love Boulder, Colorado. I love the kids that I get to coach. I love the recruiting process. I love it."
