Dallas Cowboys at Trade Deadline: ‘My 15 Best (Worst?) Targets’ - FISH PODCAST
FRISCO - There are conflicting reports from a pair of my media pals regarding the Dallas Cowboys’ plans as the October 31 NFL trade deadline approaches.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, who has a direct pipeline into the Cowboys front office, reports, “Dallas is always pretty aggressive, especially if they think, ‘We’re on the cusp here, we need something else.’ But just in my conversations this week, when I was asking around, ‘Hey, who are the some of the names we might see?’ There really wasn’t a lot.''
Meanwhile, my plugged-in pal Jordan Schultz reports that Dallas will be “aggressive” in pursuit of roster help. ... the obvious suggestion being that the Cowboys will be a "buyer.''
Which report is true? Well, my answer goes something like this …
Both of them. Both are true. Because while Glazer’s report essentially centers on the “now,” Schultz’ report is a forecast of the “then.”
And me? I know something about who the Cowboys “love” (“untouchable” though Denver cornerback Patrick Surtain may be), I know something about the pain this front office feels when its Draft Day cupboard is bare (see Cooper, Amari) and I know something about what Dallas, here inside The Star, thinks of its strengths, its weaknesses and its needs.
And so I address all of this as I name names here: The Fish Report Podcast: “My 15 Best (Worst?) Trade Names As NFL Deadline Nears.” Click there to listen in and watch below via YouTube, Cowboys Nation, if you wish to join us in the Fish Bowl!
