Jerry Jones, Brazilian Car Salesman, Wants Dallas Cowboys in Mexico City: FISH PODCAST

Would you buy a Brazilian used car from this man? Jerry Jones explains why he wants his Dallas Cowboys in Mexico City, but not in Brazil. And we explain as well in the FISH PODCAST.

FRISCO - Just as soon as the NFL announced on Wednesday that a regular-season game will be played in Brazil in 2024, speculation ran rampant that the Dallas Cowboys might be involved in that game.

"Speculation'' forgot to ask "car dealer'' Jerry Jones.

As CowboysSI.com immediately pointed out, there are a handful of obstacles to the idea of the Cowboys playing in the São Paulo International Game, thrilling though the concept might be. Those obstacles include the fact that Brazil as a marketing territory has been assigned to the Miami Dolphins, making it logical that they play there.

And as it has been designated as an "NFC home game,'' if Miami is involved, the Dolphins' NFC opponent must be on their 2024 schedule - which the Cowboys are not.

But most of all, we noted, the reason the Cowboys are not likely involved here is because team owner Jones - due to the lucrative nature of playing home games at AT&T Stadium - simply and traditionally does not want to give that up.

What does Jerry say about that? He confirmed our view, saying, "We've got a lot of fans. It might fit for a lot of clubs. It doesn't fit for the Cowboys as much. We've got the highest attendance in the NFL.

And the means money.

What does Jerry want to do as it regards an international game?

"If we do give up (a home game), I want it to be (in) Mexico,'' Jones said. That's our natural synergy and affinity with our fan base.''

And finally, what does Jerry know about Brazil? A lot, as it turns out ...

"I've got a lot of business in Brazil; I'm one of the largest automobile dealers there are in Brazil,'' Jones revealed. (And no, we did not know that.) "But I'm not as interested in the Cowboys playing there (compared to wanting to play in) Mexico City."

We discuss all of this in the Fish Podcast and in the Fish Report, and invite you, Cowboys Nation, to join us and to get informed!
