“I am back in the fold with the Cowboys."
What does this mean in practice? For starters, it apparently means something as it relates to a pair of central figures here inside The Star, Dak Prescott and Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy is stll here ... which might suggest that Johnson didn't advise that the sitting coach be dumped. ... Yet. ... in the next breath, the Hall of Fame coach Johnson also talking about the future of his pal Bill Belichick and his willingness to move to a team next year without having to have his Patriots-level autonomy.
And Dak is about the become the center of contract negotiations, which might suggest ... well, we will have to see how those talks go, though we know Johnson to in general be a supporter of Prescott's work.
