Head coach Mike McDaniel conducted his traditional day-after-the-game press conference Monday in the aftermath of the Miami Dolphins' 31-17 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Here were the highlights from McDaniel's media session:

-- Linebacker David Long Jr. was cleared last night, but he didn't return to the sideline until late in the game and didn't have time to get back in. So he's not in concussion protocol and he's good to go.

-- The injury to Isaiah Wynn looks like "it's going to be weeks," not a bump or a bruise. That obviously is not good news for the offensive line.

-- Jaylen Waddle had back issues against Philadelphia, but McDaniel says he's expecting him to practice this week. "They found a solution and got it loose."

-- Regarding the news the Dolphins will be the team featured for the in-season "Hard Knocks" this year, McDaniel says he sees some positives with this particular team, says it's not a bad thing for fans to see the day-in, day-out hard work the team puts in.

-- McDaniel indicates the filming will start after the Dolphins' trip to Germany and will run through the conclusion of the season.

-- The operation on offense was below the standard in terms of dealing with a hostile environment, but McDaniel said those were valuable reps to learn how to play in those conditions.

-- There were some details that were just off in the run game that made the difference between negative plays and what could have been explosive plays.

-- Lester Cotton took over for Wynn in the Philadelphia game and McDaniel said it was a tough spot for him to try to perform against a front like that of the Eagles. Says there were a few things he could have done better and expects him to do better with a full week of practice.

-- Jalen Ramsey had a great practice week and he got scout team player of the week, but McDaniel said he'll take things at a day at a time as far as when he'll play in a game.

-- There haven't been any setbacks with Ramsey, who just needs to go through a process of getting himself back in football shape.

-- McDaniel says the plan as of Monday is that he'll be getting defensive team reps this week.

-- After the loss against the Eagles, McDaniel says he's aware that the narrative about the Dolphins not being able to beat a good team will be there until they actually do it.

-- Back to "Hard Knocks," McDaniel says any concerns he might have had about losing "competitive advantage" were alleviated in his discussions with the league.

-- Safety Jevon Holland was cleared by the independent doctor and returned to the game Sunday, but he indicated symptoms Monday and so will be in the concussion protocol.
