Tua, "Dan The Man" and the Super Bowl
The Miami Dolphins won't be playing in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas a week from Sunday, but their two most famous quarterbacks will be involved in some way.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, in partnership with USAA and Marine Corps Association gifted a veteran and Purple Heart recipient a trip to the Super Bowl.
Staff Sergeant John "Jonesy" Jones and his brother will be attending the Super Bowl and get the opportunity to meet Tua in Las Vegas ahead of the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
“Whenever I face setbacks, challenges or adversity in my football career, I always find inspiration from the men and women in the military who bravely serve our country,” Tua said in a prepared statement. “No one is more inspiring in the face of adversity than Staff Sergeant John “Jonesy” Jones. I'm humbled by the opportunity to join with USAA and the Marine Corps Association to award him with a trip to the Super Bowl, and I can’t wait to learn from him and show my thanks when we meet in Las Vegas.”
Jones currently is the vice president of Development for Project Healing Waters, a group that uses the therapeutic art of fly fishing to address PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma, and contributions to the reduction of suicide. He currently resides in Windsor, Colorado, with his four children. He is a lifelong NFL fan, and his favorite team is the San Fransisco 49ers.
DAN THE MAN
A big part of the Super Bowl experience always is the television commercials, and the greatest QB in Dolphins history, Dan Marino, will be appearing in one of those this year.
Marino is part of an ad for Michelob ULTRA beer, along with soccer legend Lionel Messi and actor Jason Sudeikis of "Ted Lasso" and "Saturday Night Live" fame.
Some trailers for the ad already have been released — yes, trailers for an ad — and one of them featured "Dan the Man."
