Dolphins to be Featured on 'Hard Knocks' in Season
While details are still to be finalized, what has been established is that the Miami Dolphins will be the team featured during the in-season "Hard Knocks" on Max this year.
The announcement came Monday afternoon from the Dolphins, HBO and NFL Films.
The Dolphins have been one of the most talked-about teams in the NFL this season thanks to their explosive offense, the unique personality of head coach Mike McDaniel, and dynamic stars like Tyreek Hill, Tua Tagovailoa and Christian Wilkins, to name just three.
The Arizona Cardinals were featured as the in-season team on "Hard Knocks" last year, while the New York Jets got the training camp treatment of the annual series this August after the arrival of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.
The Dolphins have appeared on Hard Knocks once before — in 2012 when Joe Philbin was the first-year head coach and the storylines included former first-round pick Vontae Davis being told he was being traded to the Indianapolis Colts, longtime star wide receiver Chad Johnson was informed he was being released, and the quarterback battle between veterans David Garrard and Matt Moore and then-rookie first-round pick Ryan Tannehill.
As a point of reference, the 2022 in-season "Hard Knocks" began Nov. 9 and ran every Wednesday through Jan. 11 with the exception of the Cardinals' bye week.
The Dolphins' bye week this season is scheduled for Nov. 12 after the game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Germany on Nov. 5.
