Jayden Daniels dominates GMFB's NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year predictions
The NFL season is set to begin on Thursday night, and many national outlets are getting in their last-minute predictions. Good Morning Football is one of those outlets, and in their NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year predictions, it was almost a clean sweep for the 2024 NFL Draft No. 2 overall pick and new face of the franchise for the Washington Commanders, Jayden Daniels.
All four of the crew made their predictions, and three of them selected Daniels as their pick to win the award. Peter Schrager and Akbar Gbajabiamila both picked Daniels, while Kyle Brandt stuck with the top pick in the draft, Caleb Williams. Jamie Erdahl went against the grain and selected Denver Broncos' starting quarterback Bo Nix.
What is interesting, however, is that nobody picked a non-quarterback in one of the few awards that is not quarterback-dominated. Over the past six seasons, quarterbacks have won the award just three times, most recently with C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans taking home the award. However, wide receivers have made a run over the past three years with both Ja'Marr Chase and Garrett Wilson taking home the honors.
Given his status as the top receiver for the Arizona Cardinals already, the amount of targets he is going to get pelted with, and his high-end playmaking ability, Marvin Harrison Jr. has somehow become overlooked for the award.
Williams would be my bet given the elite talent around him and with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron calling plays. However, Daniels certainly wouldn't be my second option, Nix would not even be on my radar, and not even considering Harrison Jr. feels like neglecting history and trends around the NFL.
But to each their own!
