The top of next year's quarterback class seems pretty clear cut at this point in the process, with USC's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye leading the pack.

After that, it's still a wide-open race between a long list of names, all of whom have a chance to launch themselves into that QB3 spot and a potential first-round draft slot with a stellar performance in 2023.

In the latest 2024 NFL mock draft from Draft Countdown, Oregon's Bo Nix takes that title, coming off the board at No. 19 overall to the Minnesota Vikings.

Williams goes No. 1 overall to the Arizona Cardinals in this projection, while Maye lands with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 4 overall. Nix is the only other quarterback to crack the first round, leaving other intriguing prospects like Tennessee's Joe Milton III, Duke's Riley Leonard, Texas' Quinn Ewers and more to wait until Day 2.

A pair of offensive tackles come off the board in the top five picks, with Notre Dame's Joe Alt going to the Indianapolis Colts at No. 3 overall, and Penn State's Olu Fashanu heading to the Los Angeles Rams at No. 5 overall.

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. rounds out the top five, teaming up with Williams in Arizona with the No. 2 overall pick.

Next year's draft class is already loaded with intrigue at the game's most important position, and the college football season will be filled with talented passers trying to improve their draft stock and get as close to Williams and Maye as possible.
