It's not much of a surprise, but the Indianapolis Colts have made it official, naming rookie Anthony Richardson their starting quarterback for Week 1 of the 2023 regular season.

Richardson has taken most of the first-team snaps throughout training camp, and started last weekend's preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills.

The No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Florida, Richardson's draft stock overcame a lack of starting experience at the college level, thanks in large part to his rare combination of size, arm talent and athleticism. That dangerous combo was put on full display at the NFL Scouting Combine, when Richardson delivered arguably the most impressive workout by a quarterback in the event's history.

Richardson now steps into a void left by the likes of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck, as the Colts search for their next franchise quarterback.
