Background:

Ben Sims is a returning starter for Baylor. This season Sims played in 12 games and started in 11 of them. He exits his career as the Baylor all-time record holder for career TDs by a tight end (12), ranking second in receptions by a TE (78), and fourth in receiving yards by a TE (785). This season he caught 31 passes for 255 yards and three TDs as a senior, also rushing for a one-yard TD. In 2021, Sims started 13 of 14 games receiving All-Big 12 Honorable Mention (TE). He finished third on the team with 31 receptions, and fourth on the team in receiving yards (361), and his nine career receiving touchdowns are the most in program history by a TE.
