Background:
Brady Russell comes from a true football family. His father played at Arkansas, an uncle played at Colorado and is a Senior Executive in the NFL, another uncle played at Arkansas, and his brother played at Northern Colorado. At Fossil Ridge High School, Russell competed in track and field before playing both Defensive End and Tight End. In 2018, Russell was awarded a scholarship during camp after being a walk-on. He went on to finish the 2019 season with 23 receptions, 221 yards, and two touchdowns which exceed the production Colorado had seen in the previous three years combined. Russell was named a captain before the beginning of the 2020 season but was sidelined for the remainder of the year during his fourth game. In 2021, Russell finished with a team-high 25 catches for 307 yards, was nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, and was invited to the Senior Bowl. After graduating with a degree in Strategic Communication and a minor in Sports Media, Russell opted to return to Colorado to pursue a master’s in Organizational Leadership. In 2022, Russell ended with 20 catches for 153 yards and was named an All-PAC-12 Honorable Mention.
