The site of this year's first "College Gameday" road trip for ESPN's college football crew featured a neutral-site rivalry matchup between North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class.

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye got his 2023 campaign off to a strong start, leading the Tar Heels to a 31-17 win over the Gamecocks.

Maye completed 24 of his 32 pass attempts for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but wasn't without his mistakes, tossing two interceptions.
