Fantasy Football Impact from NFL Free Agency /

Welcome to your one-stop-shop for all things fantasy football and free agency. The past two weeks has turned the fantasy football landscape on its head. Roster turnover is inevitable in the NFL and the opening two weeks of the 2021 league year were no exception. We will analyze all 32 NFL teams and discuss their activity (or lack thereof) and how it affects your fantasy football team.

*This article is currently constructed to show who has been retained by their respective team and who has been signed away. If a free agent of a particular team has not been mentioned as a re-signing/subtraction, then they will not be featured. This article will be updated weekly to portray the current acquisitions around the NFL.*

Arizona Cardinals

Additions/Re-signings: WR A.J. Green, C Rodney Hudson, T Kelvin Beachum Subtractions: RB Kenyan Drake, TE Dan Arnold

Analysis: Kyler Murray is the main benefactor of any moves made by Arizona. While the headlines will go to Green, the addition of Hudson from Las Vegas and the departure of Drake are more important. Murray now has a stalwart on his offensive line, an already vast improvement to what the Cardinals put out in 2020. A few more pieces along the offensive line and we could see Murray hitting his ceiling in 2021. Green mostly is what he is at this point in his career. He isn’t taking anything off DeAndre Hopkins’ plate and Christian Kirk wasn’t getting enough volume to begin with. The lack of addition at running back lines up Chase Edmonds to be the primary back. If a move isn’t made and Edmonds escapes the draft without the Cardinals bringing in a rookie, then he could be looking at an RB2 year with RB1 potential.

Atlanta Falcons

Additions/Re-signings: HC Arthur Smith, RB Mike Davis

Subtractions: N/A

Analysis: The Falcons have been quiet this offseason, which is not much of a surprise given their lack of cap space. However, they did restructure quarterback Matt Ryan’s contract. The earliest the Falcons can move on from Ryan is the 2023 offseason. They could always draft a quarterback with the No. 4 pick in the draft, but asking a rookie to sit through 2022 seems like a waste of resources. Smith is not taking Ryan for granted, so fantasy football players should feel confident with Ryan on their roster going forward

3/30/21 Update: Signed running back Mike Davis. The Falcons do not have an inspiring group at running back at the moment. The addition of Davis is nothing special, but with who they have currently, Davis might be looking at a premier role. We’ll see if he can survive the draft, but for now he is basically all Atlanta has.

Baltimore Ravens

Additions/Re-signings: G Kevin Zeitler, TE Josh Oliver, WR Sammy Watkins Subtractions: WR Dez Bryant, RB Mark Ingram, QB Robert Griffin III

Analysis: The Ravens moved quickly to reinforce a weak spot along their offensive line. Bringing in guard Kevin Zeitler from the Giants is a fantastic move for a team that plans to run the ball a lot. Improving the offensive line will do more for quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens' offense than any possible move at receiver, that’s a simple truth. Another positive about Zeitler? He won’t count towards the compensatory pick process that Baltimore has been so great at manipulating for years. One move still to come is the potential trade of star right tackle Orlando Brown. Yet another reason why it is wise for Baltimore to be looking for O-line help.

3/30/21 Update: Signed wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Not exactly what Ravens fans had in mind, but he was basically all that was left. Watkins has become a bit of lost cause in fantasy and NFL circles alike, but he still has the occasional pop-off game. Still, in a run heavy offense and with his injury history, it’s hard to make the case for Watkins as a viable fantasy option.

Buffalo Bills

Additions/Re-signings: T Daryl Williams, G Jon Feliciano, WR Emmanuel Sanders, TE Jacob Hollister, QB Mitchell Trubisky, RB Matt Breida

Subtractions: WR John Brown

Analysis: Re-signing a guard as versatile as Feliciano and a tackle coming off a year as good as Williams is always a good thing. The Bills retaining both linemen on team-friendly deals is the cherry on top. Quarterback Josh Allen solidified himself as a high-end QB1 a year ago and there is no reason to believe he will finish any lower than QB5 going forward. With Brown exiting, Emmanuel Sanders enters the fray. The biggest question surrounding this offense is what Sanders’ presence does for second-year receiver Gabriel Davis who flashed in 2020. At worst, this puts off an inevitable breakout by Davis for one more year while learning under a consummate professional in Sanders.

3/30/21 Update: Signed running back Matt Breida. With Allen being the team's primary goal-line back, I would steer clear of Breida. Wait until the draft before checking on this backfield.

Carolina Panthers

Additions/Re-signings: T Taylor Moton, T Cam Erving, G Pat Elflein, WR David Moore, TE Dan Arnold

Subtractions: WR Curtis Samuel, T Russell Okung

Analysis: The Panthers are hell-bent on securing their quarterback of the future this offseason. Even with the departure of Samuel, a team can do way worse than an offense that includes receivers DJ Moore and Robby Anderson as well as star running back Christian McCaffrey. Whether it is a rookie or one of the two high-profile veteran quarterbacks on the trade market, Carolina offers a sweet landing spot for any future signal-caller. They’ll need to figure out the offensive line and have already retained right tackle Moton while also bringing in a couple of veterans in Erving and Elflein. The quarterback position is the one to watch here. Will it be Teddy Bridgewater for another season or is yet another changing of the guard on the horizon?

Chicago Bears

Additions/Re-signings: QB Andy Dalton, WR Allen Robinson II, OL Germain Ifedi, RB Damien Williams

Subtractions: T Bobby Massie

Analysis: The Bears reportedly made a huge offer to the Seahawks for Russell Wilson. With that said, the addition of Dalton was evidence those negotiations didn’t go Chicago's way. A shame really, because we continue to weep for the sad fantasy potential of stud receiver Robinson. In all seriousness, Dalton seriously might be the best quarterback Robinson has been paired with in his career. Robinson has proven to be quarterback proof regardless so you should still have faith in him for 2021 while also hoping for a possible trade of the Bears’ franchise player.

3/30/21 Update: Signed running back Damien Williams. The signing of Williams brings a bit of murkiness to a position group that already includes David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen. The latter is more likely to be affected and should be lowered a bit in rankings. Like it or not, Williams is a capable back and will likely be taking touches away from the others.

Cincinnati Bengals

Additions/Re-signings: T Riley Reiff, QB Brandon Allen

Subtractions: QB Ryan Finley, C/G BJ Finney, WR A.J. Green, WR Alex Erickson

Analysis: The signing of Reiff proves that the Bengals are at least trying to keep Joe Burrow protected. The low-balling of top free-agent guard Joe Thuney by Cincinnati proves that they are not trying hard enough. They were also rumored to be looking to bring in top free-agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay before he signed with the Giants. While the need for offensive line help is blatantly obvious, the Bengals have made some solid signings on the defensive side of the ball and as long as Burrow is healthy for 2021 then they should continue to improve as an offense as long as they keep Burrow upright.

Cleveland Browns

Additions/Re-signings: WR Rashard Higgins, WR Ryan Switzer

Subtractions: N/A

Analysis: The Browns have been mostly quiet outside of some low-tier signings this offseason. Cleveland had a solid showing in 2020 and returns a roster that won 11 games on its way to the playoffs. Quarterback Baker Mayfield finally has stability at head coach and offensive coordinator, which will hopefully unlock his full potential. He made massive strides last season and is starting to look like the star signal-caller we were promised. Couple that with a solid group of pass-catchers and a lethal 1-2 punch at running back and it isn’t hard to see why the Browns haven’t been too active on the offensive side of the ball. This offense could take the next step in 2021.

Dallas Cowboys

Additions/Re-signings: QB Dak Prescott, T Ty Nsekhe

Subtractions: N/A

Analysis: The Cowboys set out this offseason to do two things: re-sign quarterback Dak Prescott to a long-term deal and to fix the defense. They accomplished Part 1 by re-signing Prescott to a massive four-year deal worth $160 million. Why am I mentioning defense in a fantasy football article? Well, if the Cowboys don’t improve on defense, then they’ll be involved in a lot of shootouts in 2021. Prescott was on pace to destroy several passing records before getting injured last year. With elite options at his disposal and the contract behind him, Prescott should prove once and for all that he is an elite player at his position. Expect CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper and (assuming no trade) Michael Gallup to all be viable fantasy options with major upside.

Denver Broncos

Additions/Re-signings: RB Mike Boone

Subtractions: RB Phillip Lindsay

Analysis: The Broncos are another team that has been pretty quiet in free agency on the offensive side of the ball. They did rescind the restricted free-agent tender from Phillip Lindsay, who will now play in Houston. That seems to open up more opportunity for Melvin Gordon, who should see a nice bump in carries and targets. Denver needs to figure out what to do at quarterback. Drew Lock has been middling through two seasons and seems to be holding the team back. They have talent all over the roster. A hit at quarterback and they could take the next step, making wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and tight end Noah Fant possible fantasy studs sooner rather than later.

Detroit Lions

Additions/re-Signings: QB Jared Goff, WR Tyrell Williams, RB Jamaal Williams, WR Breshad Perriman, TE Josh Hill, QB Tim Boyle,

Subtractions: QB Matthew Stafford, WR Kenny Golladay, WR Marvin Jones, TE Jesse James, WR Danny Amendola, C Russell Bodine, QB Chase Daniel

Analysis: Talk about a team that will have a completely different look heading into 2021. The Lions hit the nuke button and will be rebuilding going forward. The trade that saw the Lions and Los Angeles Rams swap quarterbacks allowed Detroit to stock up on draft capital while also not being left out in the cold at quarterback for 2021. Jared Goff may not get the blood pumping, but he is more than capable of steering this team through the rebuilding years. Outside of Goff, the most fantasy-relevant player in Detroit is DeAndre Swift. The second-year running back will lead the backfield and will most likely be featured as the main weapon in Detroit’s offense. Jamaal Williams’ arrival may take some value away from Swift, but not enough to scare you away. Swift should finish in or near RB1 territory.

Green Bay Packers

Additions/re-Signings: RB Aaron Jones

Subtractions: RB Jamaal Williams, C Corey Linsley

Analysis: Well at least Green Bay re-signed their star running back for $12 million a year after drafting a running back in Round 2 last year. Nobody knows how to waste resources quite like the Packers these days. On top of that horrid decision, they refused to jump into a depressed free-agent receiver market where quality players were going for bargains. If Green Bay doesn’t draft at least one receiver (and high), then quarterback Aaron Rodgers might spontaneously combust. In all seriousness, lock in Jones for RB1 territory. He is a great fit in Green Bay even if the contract is egregious.

Houston Texans

Additions/Re-signings: RB Mark Ingram, C Justin Britt, T Marcus Cannon, G Justin McCray, QB Tyrod Taylor, WR Alex Erickson, WR Donte Moncrief, OL Cole Toner, RB Phillip Lindsay

Subtractions: WR Will Fuller, RB Duke Johnson Jr., C Nick Martin, G Senio Kelemete,

Analysis: Things are not good in Houston. The Deshaun Watson saga is taking an ugly turn and it seems as if that situation won’t be resolved for quite some time. New head coach David Culley has his work cut out for him with a roster full of castoffs. For new general manager Nick Caserio, the goal should be to get through the season without stepping on any landmines in the media and start to build up the team through the draft. There’s a three-man logjam at running back with Lindsay, Ingram, and David Johnson so that will be difficult to navigate for fantasy and the question mark at quarterback makes Brandin Cooks a tough sell. Houston is a mess at the moment.

Indianapolis Colts

Additions/Re-signings: RB Marlon Mack, QB Carson Wentz, WR T.Y. Hilton Subtractions: QB Philip Rivers

Analysis: The Colts made their major move before free agency by acquiring Wentz for a 2021 second-round pick and a conditional second-round pick in 2022 that could become a No. 1. With Rivers retiring, the Colts will hope for Wentz to rebound under head coach Frank Reich who Wentz played for in 2017 when he was a potential MVP candidate. Things have been rough for Wentz, but a change of scenery could be just what he needs. The re-signing of Mack is a bit of a head-scratcher, but he will provide solid depth to second-year back Jonathan Taylor.

3/30/21 Update: Re-signed wide receiver T.Y. Hilton. Hilton turned down a better offer from Baltimore, opting to return to Indianapolis on a 1-year deal. Hilton is reaching the end of the road, but this bodes well for Wentz. Hilton is still a viable target and will no doubt make Wentz a more appealing option this coming year.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Additions/re-Signings: T Cam Robinson, G Tyler Shatley, WR Marvin Jones Jr., WR Philip Dorsett, WR Jamal Agnew, TE Chris Manhertz, RB Carlos Hyde

Subtractions: TE Josh Oliver

Analysis: The Jones signing gives Jacksonville a very formidable trio at receiver. Incoming first overall pick Trevor Lawrence will lead a more than adequate passing attack in 2021 under new head coach Urban Meyer. The signing of Hyde seems to signal a sign of trust in last year’s undrafted free agent gem James Robinson. If the Jaguars don’t add so much as a fourth-round rookie or later, then the job is seemingly Robinson’s to lose.

Kansas City Chiefs

Additions/Re-signings: G Joe Thuney, G Kyle Long, T Mike Remmers, RB Elijah McGuire, WR Demarcus Robinson

Subtractions: T Eric Fisher, T Mitchell Schwartz, RB Damien Williams, WR Sammy Watkins

Analysis: At first it looked like the Chiefs might have lost their collective minds at the start of free agency. They cut both Fisher and Schwartz to begin the offseason after being pummeled by the Tampa Buccaneers’ defensive line in the Super Bowl. Worry not; the Chiefs struck fast like their offense likes to do by signing the top guard on the market in Thuney. Thuney was an ironman in New England and can play all three positions along the offensive line. Kansas City followed that up by signing Long out of retirement to shore up the interior offensive line. They still have work to do at both tackle spots, so look for them to draft heavy along the line. Keeping Patrick Mahomes upright and blocking for second-year back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is what will allow the Chiefs to continue to be a dominant force in fantasy football and the NFL.

Las Vegas Raiders

Additions/Re-signings: WR John Brown, RB Kenyan Drake, WR Zay Jones, TE Derek Carrier, C Nick Martin, OL Denzelle Good, G Richie Incognito, RB Theo Riddick, WR Willie Snead

Subtractions: C Rodney Hudson, G Gabe Jackson, T Trent Brown, WR Tyrell Williams

Analysis: If the Raiders love quarterback Derek Carr, they have a weird way of showing it by effectively tanking his entire offensive line. The starting center, right tackle and one have been jettisoned and if head coach Jon Gruden wants to have a passing game in 2021, then he better start finding some guys who can block. They did re-sign Incognito after he had been released. The Raiders continued their perplexing plan by signing Drake, who is enough of a dual-threat to worry Josh Jacobs owners in fantasy. The lack of offensive linemen hurts the value of all Vegas’ pass-catchers as well as Carr. We’ll see what the Raiders have in store for us at the draft, but they have been a dumbfounding experience to start the league year.

Los Angeles Chargers

Additions/Re-signings: C Corey Linsley, OL Matt Feiler, TE Jared Cook, OL Oday Aboushi

Subtractions: TE Hunter Henry, G Trai Turner

Analysis: The Chargers made a magnificent signing with Linsley. Linsley and quarterback Justin Herbert should allow the Chargers offense to continue its upward trajectory. New head coach Brandon Staley will look to help Herbert continue his progression as a stud second-year player in an offense that has talent. Cook should be an adequate replacement for the departing Henry. Look for Herbert to push for QB1 territory in fantasy this year and beyond.

Los Angeles Rams

Additions/Re-signings: QB Matthew Stafford, WR DeSean Jackson

Subtractions: QB Jared Goff, WR Josh Reynolds, RB Malcolm Brown

Analysis: The Rams are allergic to first-round picks. That’s the only explanation at this point. Head coach Sean McVay will hope that Stafford can help the Rams take the next step as an offense. Stafford is undoubtedly an upgrade over Goff and should mean great things in fantasy for Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. With the possible ascension of second-year back Cam Akers, the Rams could be clicking on all cylinders come 2021.

3/30/21: Signed wide receiver WR DeSean Jackson. That one week or two of Stafford throwing bombs to Jackson could be fun. Here’s to hoping that isn’t wishful thinking because Jackson has been a walking injury report for about two seasons now. He's played 16 games only once in his entire career.

Miami Dolphins

Additions/Re-signings: WR Will Fuller, QB Jacoby Brissett, C Matt Skura, RB Malcolm Brown

Subtractions: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

Analysis: The Dolphins are putting all their faith in second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this season. What better way to help your quarterback than to bring speed demon Will Fuller on a 1-year prove-it deal. Fuller has had a past filled with injuries and suspensions, but he is betting on himself here. He’s worth the risk in fantasy considering people are already undervaluing him due to their concerns over the fit with Tagovailoa. Expect him to take a solid step forward in 2021 knowing that he is the guy in Miami. The running back position bears watching. Myles Gaskin is the top back now and Brown isn’t going to move the needle. Look for Miami to select a running back in the upcoming draft.

Minnesota Vikings

Additions/Re-signings: N/A

Subtractions: T Riley Reiff, TE Kyle Rudolph

Analysis: The Vikings have been more focused on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. The biggest fantasy news out of Minnesota is the departure of tight end Kyle Rudolph. With Rudolph gone, third-year tight end Irv Smith Jr. could ascend to a starring role for the Vikings. Look for Minnesota to address some offensive needs in the draft.

New England Patriots

Additions/Re-signings: QB Cam Newton, TE Jonnu Smith, TE Hunter Henry, WR Nelson Agholor, WR Kendrick Bourne, C David Andrews, T Trent Brown, C/G Ted Karras, RB James White

Subtractions: G Joe Thuney, WR Damiere Byrd, T Marcus Cannon, TE Ryan Izzo

Analysis: It’s safe to say the team that will look most different in 2021 is the Patriots. Head coach Bill Belichick, coming off of a down season, came out guns blazing in free agency. Bringing in Smith and Henry should allow New England to work the offense through their tight ends. Bringing in a friend from their past in Brown and re-signing Andrews should allow the Patriots to offset the loss of Thuney while also keeping the New England offensive line among the best in the NFL. They even got better at receiver, bringing in speedster Agholor and a solid slot option in Bourne. Finally, when it comes to fantasy football, the biggest winner in all of this seems to be Newton. Newton re-signed a team-friendly 1-year deal and is poised to get a fair shake with an improved offense. However, keep an eye on New England heading into the draft. Their offense is now extremely quarterback-friendly with talent brought in at nearly every position on both sides of the ball, almost as if they could be looking to take advantage of a quarterback on a rookie contract.

3/30/21 Update: Re-signed runnung back James White. White signing back with New England means he will still be the late-round PPR safety valve you love to have in a pinch.

New Orleans Saints

Additions/Re-signings: QB Jameis Winston, RB Ty Montgomery

Subtractions: WR Emmanuel Sanders, QB Drew Brees, TE Josh Hill, TE Jared Cook, G Nick Easton

Analysis: The post-Drew Brees era has begun in New Orleans. Does that mean we are on the verge of the Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill era in New Orleans? To be honest, we shall see after this year. The Saints will likely continue to employ Hill as a do-it-all Swiss-Army knife and Winston will likely be the starting quarterback looking to regain his career composure. While Winston is a gunslinger in every sense of the word, it’s tough to decipher what his presence means for fantasy stalwarts Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara. Both carry some risk going forward as long as the Saints’ quarterback position remains unsolved long term.

New York Giants

Additions/Re-signings: WR Kenny Golladay, T Nate Solder, WR John Ross, TE Kyle Rudolph, QB Mike Glennon

Subtractions: G Kevin Zeitler, WR Golden Tate, RB Wayne Gallman

Analysis: The Giants made a splash at wide receiver signing Golladay. Golladay made it very clear that he wanted to be in New York. That carries some weight here, regardless of what you think about Golladay as a player. We’ll see what he can do in 2021 with quarterback Daniel Jones, but Golladay wanting to be in New York is a good sign for the Giants and fantasy owners alike. Speaking of Jones, the excuses are done and the time is now. Even with a shaky offensive line at the moment, Jones has plenty of options in the passing game. He’ll be expected to take the Giants to the playoffs after coming close in 2020. This is a make-or-break season for the third-year signal-caller.

New York Jets

Additions/Re-signings: WR Corey Davis, WR Keelan Cole, TE Tyler Kroft, RB Tevin Coleman

Subtractions: RB Frank Gore

Analysis: The Jets signed former Davis to team with second-year receiver Denzel Mims. Those two figure to form a solid 1-2 punch for whoever the Jets decide to take at No. 2 overall in the draft. Yes, that does mean they will be trading Sam Darnold. They have the option to keep Darnold, but it makes little financial sense and they’re better off starting over (again) at the quarterback position. Expect Davis to be a WR3 with WR2 upside.

3/30/21 Update: Signed RB Tevin Coleman. Coleman has become a journeyman, with his latest home being in East Rutherford with the Jets. New York doesn’t necessarily have an enticing option in their backfield, so Coleman could essentially be a value option but the expectation is Gang Green will add to the position in the draft.

Philadelphia Eagles

Additions/Re-signings: N/A

Subtractions: WR DeSean Jackson, WR Alshon Jeffery, QB Carson Wentz

Analysis: The Eagles are using this offseason to say goodbye to their past. Gone are Jackson, Jeffery, Wentz, and head coach Doug Pederson, and in comes new head coach Nick Sirianni. General manager Howie Roseman has his work cut out for him. The owner wants him to build around quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles up until this point have been somewhat non-committal. All of this is leading up to a very important decision for the Eagles. Do they go quarterback at No. 12 in the draft if one of the top ones last, or will they stick by Hurts? Tune in on April 29 to find out.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Additions/Re-signings: WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, QB Ben Roethlisberger, C/G BJ Finney

Subtractions: C Maurkice Pouncey, RB James Conner

Analysis: The Steelers started the offseason by committing to Roethlisberger for one year. They then retained Smith-Schuster on a team-friendly 1-year deal and one would expect the Steelers to sign him to a long-term deal next year when they have more cap space. That, unfortunately, might cap the fantasy potential of second-year receiver Chase Claypool. Until the Steelers move on from Roethlisberger, the fantasy situation surrounding their receivers will remain murky at best. One final note: expect the Steelers to draft a running back in April.

3/30/21 Update: Signed running back Kalen Ballage. Ballage is added to a crowded backfield full of nothing worthwhile for fantasy.

San Francisco 49ers

Additions/Re-signings: T Trent Williams, C Alex Mack, FB Kyle Juszczyk

Subtractions: WR Kendrick Bourne

Analysis: The 49ers made it a priority to retain their own free agents, especially Williams. Mission accomplished as he signed a massive six-year deal with San Francisco, solidifying an offensive line that will adds Mack. The 49ers could be looking to make a move at quarterback, but seem to be committed to current starter Jimmy Garoppolo. Either way, San Francisco seems to be in great shape heading into 2021. Expect wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk and tight end George Kittle to all be very fantasy relevant going forward.

Seattle Seahawks

Additions/Re-signings: G Gabe Jackson, C Ethan Pocic, RB Chris Carson, FB Nick Bellore, TE Gerald Everett

Subtractions: WR Josh Gordon, TE Greg Olsen

Analysis: While trading for Jackson is a solid move and retaining Carson was nice, the Seahawks are in a bit of a pickle. Quarterback Russell Wilson hasn’t exactly demanded a trade, but he doesn’t sound too thrilled in Seattle. The Seahawks have gone as far as taking calls on Wilson and even reportedly declined a huge trade offer from the Chicago Bears. The situation bears monitoring, but as long as Wilson is in Seattle, the fantasy outlook for any Seattle option remains solid.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Additions/Re-signings: WR Chris Godwin, TE Rob Gronkowski, RB Leonard Fournette Subtractions: N/A

Analysis: The Super Bowl champion Buccaneers have made it known their main mission is to run it back with the team they won it all with in 2020. Quarterback Tom Brady restructured his deal to retain key free agents and while they still have guys like Antonio Brown to sign, they’ve done a pretty good job this offseason. Expect Tampa Bay to be even better on the offensive side of the ball in 2021.

3/30/21 Update: Re-signed runn ing back Leonard Fournette. The Bucs continued their efforts to win again by re-signing Fournette to a 1-year deal. Fournette is a running back on his second team and third contract. He has a good outlook for this season, but you should be looking to get younger at the position in dynasty. It’s absurd to say that when Fournette is only 26, but so is the life of an NFL running back.

Tennessee Titans

Additions/Re-signings: T Kendall Lamm, WR Josh Reynolds

Subtractions: WR Corey Davis, WR Adam Humphries, TE Jonnu Smith, T Isaiah Wilson, T Dennis Kelly

Analysis: The Titans will have a lot of turnover on offense in 2021. Gone are tight end Jonnu Smith and wide receivers Corey Davis, and Adam Humphries. That adds up to a lot of targets and snaps played in 2020. The Titans seem poised to make some major offensive moves in the draft, but don’t get it twisted. A.J. Brown is still a WR1, running back Derrick Henry is still the king and Ryan Tannehill remains  a very adequate fantasy quarterback. We’ll see going forward how the Titans fill out their offensive depth chart.

Update 3/30/21: Signed wide receiver Josh Reynolds. Reynolds showed some flashes in a Rams uniform, but was never more than the third-best option for L.A. Now he steps into an offense for Tennessee that has 208 vacated targets. Reynolds is a player to keep an eye on and if Tennessee chooses not to spend high draft capital on a receiver, then he could see an expanded role.

Washington Football Team

Additions/Re-signings: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, WR Curtis Samuel, G Brandon Scherff, RB Lamar Miller, WR Adam Humphries, QB Taylor Heinicke

Subtractions: QB Alex Smith

Analysis: What do you get when you have a stud wide receiver reuniting with his college teammate to team up with a quarterback with nothing to lose? The 2021 Washington Football Team, that’s what. The signing of Curtis Samuel was a great get for Washington and should take some pressure off bona fide stud receiver Terry McLaurin. The addition of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick should allow Washington to be a more formidable passing offense in 2021. That is great news for McLaurin and Samuel owners as well as running back Antonio Gibson owners for fantasy. One thing is for certain and that is in 2021, it’s a great time to be a Football Team.
