Chargers Trade WR Keenan Allen to Bears for 4th-Round Draft Pick
The Los Angeles Chargers are trading star wide receiver Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft, per multiple reports.
This move gives the Bears another elite pass-catcher to pair with D.J. Moore, and with the expectation that Chicago will use the No. 1 pick in this year's draft on USC quarterback Caleb Williams, adds more firepower to aid in the development of their new franchise passer.
It's one of many cost-cutting moves the Chargers have made to start their 2024 offseason, including the release of wide receiver Mike Williams, and restructured contracts for top pass rushers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.
The Chargers spent their first-round pick last year on wide receiver Quentin Johnston, and currently sitting at the No. 5 spot in this year's first round, could spend that selection on another blue-chip receiver like Washington's Rome Odunze or LSU's Malik Nabers.
