Background:
Kemari Averett played Wide Receiver, Tight End and Defensive End at Grady High School in Atlanta, Georgia. During his collegiate recruitment, Averett was ranked a three-star prospect and ranked as the 14th Tight End in the country. At the University of Louisville, Averett totaled 15 catches, 144 yards, and three touchdowns before leaving for Bethune-Cookman University. Averett’s best collegiate season was in 2021, in which he finished with 51 receptions, 876 yards, and ten touchdowns. In 2022, Averett was named a 2022 BOXTOROW HBCU All-American and a member of the All-SWAC First Team. The graduate student successfully caught at least one pass in all 22 of his games with the Wildcats.
