Top CB Prospect to Miss Senior Bowl After Surgery
One of the top cornerback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class will miss next week's all-star event.
Missouri cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. is expected to miss the Senior Bowl after undergoing surgery to repair a core muscle injury, per ESPN's Matt Miller.
Rakestraw originally had the procedure back in December after playing through the injury for much of the 2023 season. He's expected to be able to perform drills at this year's NFL Scouting Combine, according to Miller.
One of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class, Rakestraw is widely regarded as a potential first-round pick.
Even in a fairly deep cornerback class, Rakestraw has all the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level, and he should hear his name called early on draft weekend.
