Evaluation (April 2023):
Wore #18 at HUB Football CAMP. Eli ‘Tough as Nails’ Thomas is a quick, fleet-footed linebacker capable of filling the gap and getting after the quarterback. He possesses excellent straight line speed and cat-like reactions. In addition, Thomas is relentless in pursuit of the ball-carrier and plays with an overall physicality that teammates/coaches can appreciate. Also noticeable are his sound fundamentals, as well as the bend he demonstrated during one-on-ones…there are plenty of tools to work with in the toolbox. While his pass coverage is adequate, there is room for improvement. Thomas is a bit too physical at times when defending the pass, which could catch the attention of referees. He worked well with HUB coach Sam Anno and also boasts special teams experience, which could be his key to working his way back towards his opportunity. One thing we know for certain, there is no quit in Thomas.
