A tough, big-bodied wideout with a tremendous vertical game who can make plays in traffic, has reliable hands, notable work ethic and experience on special teams.
EVALUATION
Wore No.8 at HUB Football CAMP on 2/20/22. A physical route runner who is able to pick up additional yards after the catch due to strong lower body. Possesses great reach and soft hands, does a nice job of plucking the ball out of the air—a hands catcher who catches everything thrown his way. Thrives in the vertical game, especially on 50/50 balls; made a handful of plays above the rim in the red zone during HUB workout. Demonstrated above average footwork, showed excellent anticipation and balance, while doing a nice job tracking the ball. Has been working on improving his quickness. Will need to continue to enhance his speed and would like to see sharper routes—has reportedly been timed at 4.59 in the forty-yard dash. He took well to coaching from Super Bowl wideout Az-Zahir Hakim. Projects as a dependable possession wideout who can go over the middle, up top, break tackles and owns special teams experience.
QUOTABLE
“That guy’s played inside, outside. Malik Stanley I would say has some of the best hands on this football team. He’s dropped two balls this season but coming out of camp, I would say he has as good of hands as any receiver we have. He proved it (versus Southern Miss). He’s got those big strong mitts. He throws those big mitts out there, it’s hard to get that ball out.” – Former Louisiana Tech Head Coach Skip Holtz on Malik Stanley
