Will Levis Still 3rd-String QB Behind Malik Willis on Titans' Latest Depth Chart

This year's second-round pick is still trying to move ahead of last year's third-round pick.

The Tennessee Titans spent a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, just one year after spending a third-rounder on Liberty signal-caller Malik Willis.

As the battle to back up veteran starter Ryan Tannehill continues through training camp and heading into the Titans' first preseason game, Willis still holds the upper hand on Tennessee's latest updated depth chart.

While some projected Levis as high as a potential top-five pick in this year's draft, it didn't surprise many others when he came off the board in the second round. Despite impressive physical traits and experience in a pro-style offense, Levis' inconsistent play in many areas led to him falling out of the first round entirely.

Now, he's still tasked with beating out Willis, who has the benefit of a year of experience in an NFL program, practicing against pro talent on a daily basis. While Willis did struggle in much of his game action when replacing an injured Tannehill last season, he still clearly has a leg up over Levis as the Titans prepare for the 2023 season.
