Background:

Quindell Johnson, from New Orleans, Louisiana, won back-to-back state championships at Edna Karr High School in 2016 and 2017. After his success in high school, Johnson joined the Memphis Tigers with his brother, Kendall, in 2018. After redshirting his freshman year, Johnson began his collegiate career with 58 total tackles, 4 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions in 2019. In 2020, Johnson led the AAC with 60 solo tackles which ranked 22nd in the country. This ranking rose in 2021 when Johnson finished 12th in the country in solo tackles with 66. After catching a career-high 4 interceptions in the 2022 season, Johnson earned 2022 First Team All-AAC, besting his Second Team appearances in 2020 and 2021. Johnson also earned AAC All-Academic Team in the years 2019-2021.
