The first season of Deion Sanders era at Colorado came to a close Saturday, and the Buffaloes ended it without their head coach's son under center.

Starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders missed the Buffs' regular-season finale against Utah, as Colorado finished their 2023 campaign with a 23-17 loss.

Sanders suffered multiple injuries the previous week in a blowout loss against Washington State, and wasn't able to get back to full strength in time to be in the lineup Saturday.

Deion's first season leading the Buffs ends with a 4-8 record after the program won just one games last year.

While "Coach Prime" has made it clear on multiple occasions that his son will be returning to Boulder for the 2024 season, it remains to be seen when an official announcement from Shedeur will come regarding the 2024 NFL Draft.
