Shedeur Sanders Faces Biggest Test Yet vs. Oregon
Throughout his entire college career so far, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has dealt with his share of detractors.
When he lit up the stat sheet and helped lead Jackson State to an undefeated season, the doubters said it was only because he was playing against a lower level of competition.
After following his dad to Colorado, many wondered whether or not he could still put up the same numbers against FBS and Power 5 competition.
So far, so good.
But Saturday's road matchup against No. 10 Oregon represents the biggest test for Sanders yet, against a quality conference opponent, in one of the most hostile environments in all of college football.
Sanders has been impressive so far this season, leading an upset road win over TCU, a blowout victory over Nebraska, and a thrilling comeback on the national stage to beat Colorado State in double-overtime. Along the way, he's averaged more than 400 yards passing per game, with 10 touchdown passes to just one interception, all while completing nearly 80 percent of his passes.
He's also displayed legitimate traits of an NFL franchise quarterback, which has landed Sanders in many updated mock drafts for next year's first round.
Despite all the hype surrounding Deion and the Buffs program, and the lofty expectations (both preseason and weekly), Sanders has continued to be cool, calm and collected on the field, delivering winning performance after winning performance.
If he does it again in Eugene on Saturday, against a top-10 team in front of a raucous Autzen Stadium crowd, it'll be more proof that he's one of the best quarterback prospects in the country.
