Originally from Tampa, Florida. He attended Wesley Chapel High School and was rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports. Began his college career at Florida State University. Decided to redshirt his first season. As a redshirt freshman, he played in all thirteen games, totaling nine tackles and one interception. Also contributed on special teams by serving as a kickoff returner. Transferred to Jackson State University. As a junior, he played in ten games, totaling eight tackles.
